Abstract
Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) Syndrome, also known as Wilkies
syndrome, is a rare cause of duodenal obstruction resulting from compression of
the third part of the duodenum between the superior mesenteric artery and the
abdominal aorta. Despite its rarity, with a worldwide incidence of 0.1%, it
represents an important differential diagnosis in young patients presenting
with postprandial vomiting and abdominal pain.
